Pride Prepare for Busy Offseason

March 28- As the 2007-08 season concluded with the A team's most productive weekend of the season, the immediate focus turned towards the offseason.
Besides the loss of their captain and the two most tenured players, the search began for a new coaching staff to create a more solid foundation for the future. Thanks in part to a strong transfer class, the core of the roster will be returning for the 2008-09 season. However, with the departure of A.J. Frey, Adam Koziol, Andrew Macchio, and Rob Michelsen, there will be the ability to create a roster that is built around the new coaching staff's strategy.

Recent meetings amongst team officials expressed a desire to stay as a Division I program for the next season. Despite worries regarding the relatively small incoming class, a strong emphasis was put on offseason workouts, an earlier start to the practice season, and on-campus recruiting.

The team also has met with candidates for the head and assistant coach positions for all three teams for the 08-09 season. A combination encompassing college hockey, travel tournament hockey, and professional inline all are expected to be present behind the bench for the next season.

Stay tuned to HofstraHockey.net throughout the course of the semester for more updates regarding offseason player performances, coaching changes, and additional programming.
